20x30x2” original mixed media artwork affixed to deep cradled Birchwood. The beautiful piece of original artwork is encapsulated in several layers of artist-grade epoxy resin for a glass-like finish. The piece has a contemporary antique look that is accented with stunning pops of Gold leaf channeling the Japanese tradition of Kintsugi: the art of repairing broken pottery by mending the areas of breakage with Gold.

Meaning behind the piece:
This piece symbolizes the relationship between family and the crucial bonds that form during the process of transcending ancestral trauma and toxic cycles. The piece exudes an energy of rebirth, of being reborn outside of the limitations of your lineage. Deciding to redefine the very narratives one is born into, choosing to transcend, choosing to evolve, choosing to a new path, creating new cycles of growth and love. This piece is dedicated to the artists younger siblings, Heather and James.
They came into the world fearless...
But that didn’t last long.
Imprinting on the two people they called home.
Children raised by children raised by fear.
But destiny had a different plan for them...
Through the chaos they survived.
Through the madness they fought like hell.
At times they grew apart, divided.
More times they grew together...
Rebirthing a new narrative.
A new family.
A new generation.
We are not chained to the lineage we are born into...
We are not tied to the roots that bore us.
Our birth is not a representation of the lives someone else didn’t get to live.
So together we grow.
Together we shed the skin of the old roles we were born into
Together we plant a new seed.
Together we create a new life.
