“On Fire” Color Study
This is it’s color study, the piece that inspired the texture, the color and elements of the composition.
“On Fire” is the first piece in the EleMental series, an ongoing series exploring the elements and their connection to mental health and human emotion. The work is an abstract expression of the fire element and the emotions that embody the primal element.
Fire evokes emotions that often leave us burning - anger, joy, passion, creativity, love, anxiety, mania, compassion, empathy, all evoke the fire element within us. In ancient traditions, fire represents our masculine energy and is most closely related to the sun. What if emotions like anger could be channeled into joy? Or mania into creativity? What if instead of suppressing what is primal we allowed it to speak to us and we in turn make something beautiful out of it instead?
When gazing at this piece I ask you, to ask yourself the following questions regularly as the answers may change:
How are you relating to the fire within you?
Do you allow the fire to tell you what it needs?
How are you feeding your fire, are you giving it space to breathe?
If the is fire is burning out, what does it need to light it up?
How can you channel a fire that is burning you, into one that lights your soul on fire instead?
Each piece of work in this series was created to stimulate thought and allow you to channel the embodied emotion when gazing upon it. The collector will receive an immersive experience with their artwork that engages all 5 of the senses, something to savor, to smell, to see and to touch.
For the sensory experience this color study will come with handcrafted small batch Mayan truffles made by Jessica featuring edible 24K gold leaf. The piece will also include hand rolled incense Rugosa Rose and Himalayan salt for the bath made by Jessica.
